Gawad Pagkilala 2013

The DEpED Division of City of Balanga held its Gawad Pagkilala  2013 last December 19,  at Bulwagan II Capitol, Balanga City.

This event recognized the invaluable support and active participation of private individuals, NGO’s, government officials and other establishments in different school projects, programs and activities.

Our Lady of Lourdes Elementary School honoured  former Barangay Captain Ricardo Magpantay for his endless support especially in Brigada Eskwela ;  Mr. Wilson Atuan and Mr Orlando Domingo of BPSU for being partners in Feeding Cum Literacy Program. They were given plaque of recognition and while they are being awarded, a power presentation highlighting their contributions was shown.

Present to grace the occasion were  Honorable City Mayor Joet Garcia and Governor Albert Raymond Garcia.  The 2G’s commended  these  people for their effort and contributions resulting to the   success and achievement of Division of Balanga City .  They also stressed that without these people, together with other Deped individuals, Balanga City’s mission and vision will never be met.

Another highlight of the occasion was the awarding of the most comprehensive website, wherein OLLES bagged the 2nd Runner Up in the Medium School Category.  Miss Dionne Ingaran and  Mrs. Eleonor G. Sioson, School ICT Coordinators  together with  Mrs. Lisa G. Austria received the trophy and plaque of recognition.

Congratulations for a job well done. Keep it up.

SBM-PASBE Validation

Our Lady of Lourdes Elementary School was categorized as SBM Level II in the Division SBM-PASBE validation last November 14, 2013.

    The Division validation team headed by Dr. Flordeliza del Rosario, EPS-I Science and Health together with Dr. Romy Bascara, EPS I EPP/TLE, Dr. Merlinda Dominguez, EPS I Mathematicss and Miss Yolanda Pruna, EPS I Araling Panlipunan checked and verified the attachment papers included in four dimensions namely: Leadership and Governance, Curriculum Instruction, Accountability and Management Resources.

After validating the contents of the four components, suggestions were given by the four (4) EPS.  They also encourage the whole school community to continue their commitment and dedication in implementing SBM to attain basic quality education.

OLLES Kindergarten conquer Festival of Talents 2013

            Our Lady of Lourdes Elementary School once again competed in the District Level of the 2013 Kinder Festival of Talents last Oct. 17 at Balanga Elem. School, wherein cute and talented kinder pupils under the guidance of  Miss Blessilda Grace Tigas let everybody see how capable and brave they are to conquer the stage with their abilities and skill.

OLLES journalists bags awards in DSPC 2013

        Division Schools Press Conference was held last October 10, 11 and 13 at Balanga Elementary School with theme “ Campus Journalism: A Driving Force in Promoting Healthy, Eco-friendly and Sustainable Lifestyle”.

    It aims to understand the importance of journalism and to enhance the journalistic competence

of young writers. In lieu with this, OLLES journalists participated actively and luckily they were able to conquest victory.

They were under the guidance of Mr. Eduardo F. Molina, Mr. Eugene Chester Bautista

and Mrs. Cherie Ann A. Miguel.

                       It was indeed a tough and friendly competition. 

GPTA up at Mr. and Miss OLLES 2013

            Our Lady of Lourdes Elementary School GPTA officers headed by Mr. Melvin Anillo came up with this year’s fund-raising activity entitled Mr. and Miss OLLES 2013.

            Each grade will have their representative wherein the ticket sales will be use for the renovation of the office and installation of cabinets.

Kindergarten upholds Mr. and Miss United Nations 2013

          Another fund-raising activity of the kindergarten class is Mr. and Miss U.N. 2013. It is a signature campaign wherein the proceeds will be use to put up a play area in their room so pupils can socialize more with one another and be able to show their discipline when using it.

             It was initiated last June by the HRPTA officers and the kinder adviser, Miss Blessilda Grace Tigas.

The first canvassing happened already last Sept. 23, the last canvassing is on Oct. 21 and the coronation day is on Oct. 25, wherein a parade of float will happen in the morning followed by the awarding of winners.

OLLES attends 2013 Teachers’ Day Celebration

            Our Lady of Lourdes Elem. School teaching and non-teaching staff attended the 2013 Teachers’ Day Celebration last October 4 at Emiliana Hall, Tenejero, Balanga City.

            It started with a mass followed by the program prepared by the BCPSTEA officers headed by their president Mrs. Ana Maria I. Garcia.

            Mr. Jonathan Baldeo of BNHS gave the unique, lively and very energetic roll call wherein everyone participated enthusiastically.

            Dr. Ronaldo A. Pozon, ASDS of the Division of City of Balanga gave his cheerful expression of welcome, he emphasized how lucky the teachers in Balanga compared to other divisions and he even gave names of teachers like MYLA which means “may lambing palagi” when it comes to teaching.

            Honorable Mayor Joet Garcia was present during the event also; he inspired everyone with his heartfelt message to all the educators in the City of Balanga

            Some of the highlights of the program were honouring the retirees; they were recognized for their contributions while they are still in the service. They were given certificate of recognition and bouquet of flowers. Another one is the awarding of the Most Outstanding Teacher 1 up to Master Teacher 2, from the school level to division level, our two most outstanding teachers were Mr. Eduardo Molina and Mrs. Eleonor Sioson, certificate of recognition were given to them also.

            Candidates for the upcoming Miss DepEd 2013 were also presented; our candidate is Miss Blessilda Grace C. Tigas, kinder teacher.

            It was an event away from us, the pupils. It is our dear teachers’ day. Let us not forget how fervent and committed our teachers are. Be thankful to all the teachers that come our way for they sow knowledge on us and always bear in our mind that “A teacher takes a hand, opens a mind and touches a heart.”


OLLES Sports fest 2013 beefed up

               Our Lady of Lourdes Elementary School propose to toughen the sports capability of the pupils that is why they launch Sports fest 2013 last September 20, wherein all pupils are asked to participate in the event.

           Intermediate pupils will compete for volleyball, chess, badminton and athletics while primary kids played “laro ng lahi”. Everybody showed how sports minded they are. Their discipline in sports was evident also and most especially, camaraderie was clearly observed.

                 When the ball starts rolling, each player for each team did their best to win, their supporters can’t help but applaud and shout to show their never-ending support, but as we already know, there will be winners and there will be losers also. And here are the lists of all the winners.

Lambino ranks 2nd Place in the Division Math Quiz Bee

      Math wizards of Our Lady of Lourdes Elementary Schools competed in the Division Math Quiz Bee last Sept. 17, 2013 at Balanga Elementary School.

      Participants from grades III to VI divulge all their skills and knowledge on numbers, unluckily not all of them make it to win though one of them emerged as 2nd place in Grade V Math Quiz Bee and he is Carl Andrei Lambino. He was trained by Mrs. Eleonor Sioson.

      Congrats Carl, once again you had proven how good you are in Math.

BCPC provides umbrella for children

 Another project of the Barangay Council for the Protection of Children (BCPC) through the initiative of Mr. Ricardo Magpantay, barangay captain of Munting Batangas is the umbrella giving that happened last Sept. 2 at 8 o’ clock in the morning at the barangay plaza.

                 Eighty-nine lucky selected OLLES pupils from Kinder to Grade Vi were chosen to be the recipient of the umbrellas. They went to the plaza together with Miss Jonalyn Castro, BCPC Coordinator.

                 Recipients were very grateful to the BCPC Council. May you continue project like this. Mabuhay po kayo!
