Our Lady of Lourdes Elem. School teaching and non-teaching staff attended the 2013 Teachers’ Day Celebration last October 4 at Emiliana Hall, Tenejero, Balanga City.

It started with a mass followed by the program prepared by the BCPSTEA officers headed by their president Mrs. Ana Maria I. Garcia.

Mr. Jonathan Baldeo of BNHS gave the unique, lively and very energetic roll call wherein everyone participated enthusiastically.

Dr. Ronaldo A. Pozon, ASDS of the Division of City of Balanga gave his cheerful expression of welcome, he emphasized how lucky the teachers in Balanga compared to other divisions and he even gave names of teachers like MYLA which means “may lambing palagi” when it comes to teaching.

Honorable Mayor Joet Garcia was present during the event also; he inspired everyone with his heartfelt message to all the educators in the City of Balanga

Some of the highlights of the program were honouring the retirees; they were recognized for their contributions while they are still in the service. They were given certificate of recognition and bouquet of flowers. Another one is the awarding of the Most Outstanding Teacher 1 up to Master Teacher 2, from the school level to division level, our two most outstanding teachers were Mr. Eduardo Molina and Mrs. Eleonor Sioson, certificate of recognition were given to them also.

Candidates for the upcoming Miss DepEd 2013 were also presented; our candidate is Miss Blessilda Grace C. Tigas, kinder teacher.

It was an event away from us, the pupils. It is our dear teachers’ day. Let us not forget how fervent and committed our teachers are. Be thankful to all the teachers that come our way for they sow knowledge on us and always bear in our mind that “A teacher takes a hand, opens a mind and touches a heart.”
