OLLES Teachers maximize the sem-break

posted May 10, 2011, 1:35 AM by Eleonor Sioson

OLLES teachers maximized the semestral break last October 25-29 by engaging into worthwhile activities for the school. One of those was updating of forms for APPES (Accreditation Program for Public Elementary School).

Based on the administrator’s vision, Mrs. Lisa G. Austria, she is looking forward that the school will be APPES ready come SY 2015-2016. However, teachers never wasted any single time in the preparation for the upcoming accreditation.

Teachers were assigned into 7 component areas where they can analyze and evaluate the school’s standing in line with the standards preset by accreditors. The seven key-components are 1) The Teacher 2) The Learner 3) The Curriculum and Instruction 4) The School Head 5) The Assessment Program 6) School Plant Facilities and services; and 7) Community Stakeholders.

Ma’am Teresita Nisay, EPS in Makabayan and Sir Ernesto Robles, Jr., ICT Coordinator and EPS in ALS visited the school for the Division accreditation last September 8. The seven key-components were carefully evaluated one-by-one. Suggestions and recommendations were comprehensively discussed for the school’s improvement. These two division evaluators were able to assess the readiness of the school in terms of APPES criteria.

As early as now, stakeholders are already working for the fulfilment of the City Mayor’s vision of being a UNIVERSITY TOWN by 2020. And OLLES is proud to be part of its realization and implementation.
